The Albina Soul Walk is a 1-mile, self-guided audio tour exploring Albina’s musical culture of the 1960s-1980s. At this event, you can meet elder musicians featured in the walk, learn how to use the ECHOES mobile app, and experience the Soul Walk in a group.
At this event, meet “Honorary Mayor” of Northeast Portland Paul Knauls,who ran the Cotton Club throughout the 1960s in Portland hosting the likes of Etta James, Sammy Davis, Jr. & Big Mama Thornton; legendary musicians Calvin Walker and Marilyn Keller; learn how to use the ECHOES mobile app, and experience the Soul Walk in a small group.
The Albina Soul Walk was produced in 2021 by artist Megan Hattie Stahl in collaboration with Albina Music Trust.
