As an evolving process, Aaron will play with words, instruments, silence and laughter, and invite us into the lightening qualities of love. Dark corners will be lit in turn, as the wholeness of our present moments cannot be evaded. If you will, join Aaron as he shares his love for family, community, feeling, empathy and joy. These are moments where he is consciously choosing to be with these—so it be also that love's light shines through.
I. Aaron Spriggs is a son and a brother, an uncle and a friend; and along with being an artist, these are where he gathers the most pride. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Aaron is foremost a writer and performer, and has been hanging on stages showing his changing self for about a decade plus. Most of his creative work embodies his engagement with [what many call->] God, healing, wholeness and freedom, while incorporating and responding to realities of oppression. As inspired by the great roots and rhythms of jazz, he creates to transform heavy into light, and often does so in styles free from borders of conventional tempo, form, tone or expression. This freedom allows him to move with a chosen medium through current personal feelings and sensations—into social wanderings, relationships, confusions, understandings, Love and Hope.
