City Proclamation for A Vanport Day of Remembrance

Join us virtually at Portland City Council to honor the Vanport community.

On May 30, 1948, a flood destroyed the city of Vanport, Oregon's second largest city and the largest federal housing project in the country. Join flood survivors and the Vanport Mosaic community in remembrance of this tragedy that killed at least 15 people and left 18,700 people homeless. Join in virtually to attend City Council when we will listen to memories and Portland's Mayor will read the Proclamation for a Vanport Day of Remembrance.
