Please join us as we celebrate Black History Month with a special event exploring the local history of the Black Panther Party: "All Power to The People: Remembering the Legacy of the Black Panther Party in Portland." Come hear Mr. Kent Ford, founding member of Portland's chapter of the '60s-era black empowerment organization, share his personal memories of revolutionary activism, defending the community from police violence as well as organizing free breakfasts for children and health clinics.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the North Portland Library (512 North Killingsworth Street) on Sunday, February 23.
This program is made possible by the generous support of the Multnomah County Cultural Coalition and the Oregon Cultural Trust.
