A Grand Opening of the Nick Fish Housing Community
Human Solutions will honor the late City of Portland commissioner Nick Fish and his impactful dedication to affordable housing and green-space access in East Portland. Patricia Schechter, Nick Fish’s wife, will share a few words, and Sabina Haque, local artist and East Portland historian, will share an art installation that pays tribute to Nick Fish and honors the site’s history.
Fingers Crossed Interpreting will provide ASL interpretation for the speaker event and for the first tour. The tour will require people to move a short distance on level ground between two adjacent buildings and walk up at least one flight of stairs or use an elevator. This free, family-friendly event will have fun activities for kids, and the park has a playground, skateboarding area, and limited seating for picnic blankets. All are welcome!
